Patients undergoing “augmentation mammoplasty” generally have expectations in terms of size and post-op confidence. Important factors in how the surgery is performed are; 1) Placement of incision, 2) Type of implant, and 3) Placement of the implant. Dr. Zollman uses the inferior periareolar (located around the areola) incision, which is placed just on the border of normal- and darker-colored skin, nicely hiding the scar. He then places the implant in a sub muscular position, giving the implant an elastic, vascular covering. Lastly, he uses saline implants (with a solid silicone outer shell), which are flexible and stay soft.
