Rutin is a member of the bioflavonoid family. Its properties are distinctly anti-inflammatory. Rutin is widely used in Europe to relieve diseases of the blood vessels and lymph system, including hemorrhoids, chronic venous insufficiency, easy bruising, nosebleeds, and lymphedema following breast cancer surgery. Rutin is thought to work by strengthening the walls of blood vessels.
