Breast Implant Surgery - Pros and Cons

A procedure like breast implant surgery is not something to be considered lightly. Breast implants may be right for you but there are many things that you might want to consider first.

Breast implants, whether they be saline or silicone are popular for many reasons. Many women who have this surgical procedure are very happy with the results. They don’t feel that they were meant to be a smaller size, so they get to be the bigger size of their dreams. This is something that lots of women choose to do to feel good about themselves.

The boost in confidence is definitely a plus; it is something that a lot of women are lacking. Also, these women say that they feel good about being able to wear the clothes that they have always want to wear and to look good while they do it. This is something that lots of women strive for, so for these women it is a good thing.

However, there are some negative aspects to breast implant surgery. First of all, while technology has come a long way towards making them safer, you should know that you are still going to be putting something unnatural into your body, and that surgery is involved.

Even if they are safe for you, you never know what might harm your body in a certain way, or how you are going to feel. Sometimes women get sick, and with many of the methods there aren’t very many women who can tell us the long-term effects of breast surgery because they are all rather new.

So, there is the added worry of not knowing exactly what you are getting into and not knowing how it is going to affect who you are and what you look like.

Also, you are going to have to deal with extra attention. This is something that women with large chests have been dealing with for their whole lives, and if you are just now getting to a bigger size, you are going to have to get used to this. This can be both a positive and a negative experience, and it has to do with how you handle yourself.

Remember, while there is a lot of interest in breast enhancement, there is also a lot of interest in breast reduction. See your family doctor and discuss this and the many aspects of the implant surgery such as size and placement of the incision, and possible scarring.

This is a decision that should be taken on by you and your doctor and by your family, those closest to you. You are going to want to make sure that you have plenty of support because this is something that might take its toll on you and you want to be sure that you have a support system to help you through it!

Finally, be sure you are having the breast implant surgery for you, and you not doing it for someone else.

Two of my friends both had their breasts enlarged, one went to a board certified surgeon and the other went with some dr. that had a coupon in the local paper. To say the least the coupon friends breasts were lopsided and she ended up having to go to a board certified surgeon to fix the other dr.s mistake. So definitly do your research before having surgery.
