Breast Augmentation & Lift Patient, Suzanne discusses her experience through the procedure as well as her surgeon Dr. Michael Ciaravino of Houston, Texas.

The breast lift (mastopexy) is an excellent way to reshape breasts that have changed due to gravity, pregnancy, or weight change. While slight drooping of the breast may be corrected by a breast implant alone, severe sagging usually requires a more involved approach with additional incisions. Recent advances in the mastopexy technique enable Dr. Ciaravino to elevate the nipple and tighten the skin to achieve more attractive, youthful appearing breasts.

Flesh Wounds
When did cosmetic surgery become a common practice, the stuff of everyday conversation? In a work that combines a provocative ethnography of plastic surgery and a penetrating analysis of beauty and feminism, Virginia L. Blum searches out the social conditions and imperatives that have made ours a culture of cosmetic surgery. From diverse viewpoints, ranging from cosmetic surgery patient to feminist cultural critic, she looks into the realities and fantasies that have made physical malleability an essential part of our modern-day identity.
For a cultural practice to develop such a tenacious grip, Blum argues, it must be fed from multiple directions: some pragmatic, including the profit motive of surgeons and the increasing need to appear young on the job; some philosophical, such as the notion that a new body is something you can buy or that appearance changes your life. “Flesh Wounds “is an inquiry into the ideas and practices that have forged such a culture. Tying the boom in cosmetic surgery to a culture-wide trend toward celebrity, Blum explores our growing compulsion to emulate what remain for most of us two-dimensional icons. Moving between personal experiences and observations, interviews with patients and surgeons, and readings of literature and cultural moments, her book reveals the ways in which the practice of cosmetic surgery captures the condition of identity in contemporary culture.

Know How to Increase Breast Firmness

April 27, 2009 by glenda

Most women’s breasts lose their breast firmness with age, especially large-breasted women. Reasons may range from inherited characteristics such as skin elasticity and breast density (the ratio of lightweight fat to heavier glands). Other factors for breast sagging include multiple pregnancies; breast feeding, rapid weight loss, gravity and age.

The connective tissues supporting the breast are always under constant stretch due to the effects of gravity on the weight of the breast. Breast-feeding is another contributor to breast sagging because of the expansion and contraction of the breast tissue over months.

Other women may be prone to sagging because of loss in weight, genetics or multiple pregnancies.

As we age, our skin ages too. It does not support things up as well as it did when we were young, because it has lost some of its elasticity. The older we get the less elastic our skin becomes. Sagging may also be caused by partial deterioration of the glandular tissues that produce firmness of the breasts and some stretching of the tissues connecting the breasts to their muscles.

Premature sagging occurs because of stretching the Cooper’s ligaments that help suspend and support the breast. This can occur after pregnancy and weight loss. The onset of sagging breasts in some younger women is change in overall breast size after having a baby. A woman’s breasts generally become larger and engorged with milk in preparation for breastfeeding. Once breastfeeding is over, her breasts may not snap back.

If one is not getting enough support from her bra, or not wearing a bra at all, breasts can start to sag due to lack of support. This is especially true for larger breasted women, and women who may be participating in sports without wearing a proper sports bra.

Another reason for breast sagging is the lack of the hormone estrogen, which occurs at menopause. This reduction in estrogen affects all the tissues of the body, including breast tissue, and results in a reduction in size and fullness.

Who can benefit from breast firming techniques?

• Breast-feeding mothers need breast firming and breast enlargement, as pregnancy and lactation may have caused sagging of their breasts.

• Women who have lost considerable weight; and need increased breast size and firmness.

• Women who have had breast implants removed and need breast firming and enlargement.

• Women who have loose and sagging breasts, due to heredity, or some surgery etc.

• Aging women who still want to maintain that youthful look.

What to do to increase breast firmness?

Breasts are like any other part of our body, and therefore very much susceptible to wear and tear, toxins and other related problems. Breasts lose their tone and elasticity with age. This generally happens during the middle age. However, a woman can maintain healthy breasts through several ways.

Measures should be taken earlier in life to prevent, or at least reduce, sagging later in life. They include wearing supportive brassieres during pregnancy, breast feeding, and exercising.

Exercise and massaging:

Massage aids in the enhancement and rigidity of breasts. Breast exercises help firm up the pectoral muscles below the breasts. Once the pectoral muscles become firmer, the breast tissues also follow making the breast tissues stronger. Breast exercises are the most natural and safe way for a better and firm bust size. Breast firmness exercises also make you generally healthy.

Breast massages consist of different pressures applied on the breasts leading to better circulation of blood in the breast.

Breast firming products:

Many breast-firming products are easily available in the market today. Breast firming products available in various forms include creams, pills, lotions and sprays.

Most of these products stimulate the growth of breast tissue, and thus help in maintaining the firmness of the breasts. It is believed that theses products contain plant estrogens, called as phytoestrogens, which stimulate the growth of breast tissue and give rigidity to the breast. A lot of research on breast firmness products is continuously going on to introduce new and unique products.

One should also be regular in wearing supportive bras during breast-feeding. Special types of such brassieres are now available in the market, which provide support during lactation, so as to prevent sagging.

Breast Pumps:

Breast pumps also help enhance the breast size and give rigidity to the breast. It consists of two cups attached to a vacuum generating device. These cups are to be placed over the breast. Pressure is created when the air is sucked out of the cups, thus increasing the blood circulation in the breasts and providing firmness to it. Breast pumps help in flushing out any toxic materials that settle in the breasts from time to time.

Breast implants:

This is a surgical procedure, and is used to increase the size of the breast and give it a more firm and rounded look. This cosmetic procedure is increasingly becoming popular nowadays, amongst women of all age groups. However, one should be well aware of the pros and cons of any surgery before going ahead with it.

Fenugreek: A Breast Enhancement Herb

April 27, 2009 by glenda

A simple herb has been proven to enhance your breasts. Fenugreek is one, and there are other herbs that can help with breast enhancement. Many people choose Fenugreek over all of the others because they say that it works the best.

Fenugreek is used as a spice in some foods mostly in the Middle East and India. Fenugreek has been around for a long time. It has not only been used in foods, but has (in the past) been used more as an herbal medicine. It has been used as a medicinal herb all over the world.

It has been found that Fenugreek has more uses than just for medicine and foods. Fenugreek can help enhance a woman’s breasts by acting like estrogen in the body which helps to increase the production of prolactin. Prolactin is a hormone just like estrogen, and both while working together help to stimulate breast growth.

An author and doctor, Dr. James A. Duke studies and writes about herbs. In his book, The Green Pharmacy, he discusses a woman who experienced enlarged breasts and didn’t know why. She found out that Fenugreek was an herb that has the ability to enhance a woman’s breasts. She then linked the connection to her over consumption of Fenugreek seed sprouts. She realized the benefits of Fenugreek by accident, but many women today are using Fenugreek to help enhance their breasts.

This is not about getting cut open for plastic surgery and spending thousands of dollars on a breast enhancement surgery that is risky and painful. Plus, who wants to spend so much money on something that causes tremendous pain and possible problems down the road? Using Fenugreek to help enhance your breasts is completely natural, safe and efficient.

You can get started by visiting a supplement and herbal store. Fenugreek can be purchased as capsules. It is inexpensive and easy to locate. Follow the directions you find on the bottle, and never take more than the bottle’s directions indicate. It is usually recommended that you start by taking one capsule of Fenugreek three times per day. You can then increase your dosage gradually and slowly.

Everyone experiences results in different ways and within different times. Consult with your medical professional to see what they have to say about Fenugreek, and just make sure that they are well studied in the area of herbal medicines and their uses. If they aren’t, find someone else to talk to about it. You can also ask the store owner (online or offline) any questions or concerns you have about using Fenugreek, especially if you are taking any prescription medications. There should not be any interactions at all, but it is always best to be safe.

Fenugreek is a natural herb that has been around and in use for many years. It is safe and natural. Begin today to start seeing results for your own breast enhancement. Learn more by visiting: http://breastenhancerguide.com 24/7.

Protect yourself From Cosmetic Surgery Malpractice

April 27, 2009 by glenda

From television shows such as “The Swan” and “I Want a Famous Face” to movie stars emblazoned on magazine covers, society is always bludgeoning you with images of cosmetically enhanced people. However, just because cosmetic surgery is an elective procedure does not mean that medical malpractice doesn’t occur.

Kinds of Procedures

There are many cosmetic surgery procedures that can result in injury and even death. Eve basic operations such as Botox are subject to negligence. Common cosmetic malpractice lawsuits stem from aesthetic surgeries such as:

· Breast augmentation surgery

· Liposuction

· Forehead lifts

· Hair replacement

· Laser surgery

· Tummy tucks

· Eyelid surgery

Most of these are basic procedures. However, negligence during them can cause problems to arise that result in you needing additional, costly work done to repair the damage.

Do Your Research!

Cosmetic surgery malpractice was brought to the forefront by the relatively recent death of Donda West, rapper Kanye West’s mother. Donda died following numerous cosmetic surgery procedures; only after her death was it brought to light that her surgeon was not certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery to perform these procedures. Unfortunately—and very troubling—is the fact that this is neither rare nor unique.

If you’re considering cosmetic surgery, here are some essential tips to ensure your safety:

· Consult with your personal physician to make sure that your healthy enough to undergo the surgery

· Check that the American Board of Plastic Surgery certifies your surgeon. If they are, you can rest assured that he/she has graduated from an accredited medical school and completed at least five years of additional training as a resident surgeon

· Research your doctor’s hospital affiliations. If he/she is recognized by a hospital that means their work is held accountable by another organization

· Talk to some of the surgeon’s previous patients

· If an anesthesiologist will be used, do research on him/her. Anesthesia malpractice is a common culprit of medical malpractice lawsuits

Are You The Victim of Cosmetic Surgery Malpractice?

Here’s what you shouldn’t do:

· You don’t need to live with inferior and/or unwanted results

· You don’t need to be bullied into paying for another procedure to fix your surgeon’s mistakes

· And if you do need surgery to repair a surgeon’s negligence, you should never return to the same surgeon

If you have suffered as a result of a mistake during cosmetic surgery, it is important to let other people know. A cosmetic surgery malpractice lawsuit not only punishes the negligent surgeon, but can alert others to the dangers you suffered.
